Everything is "rosy" with this authentic antique Hildensheimer rose spoon set.

These Hildesheimer spoons are part of the creations of founder Christoph Widmann, a notable German silversmith. The Rose of Hildensheim is a German legend regarding King Ludwig the Pious, who took shelter under a rose bush, then built a chapel next to the rose bush. The chapel became the Cathedral of Hildsheim and the rose bush still blooms next to it, today. In 1919 Christop Widman designed a silver rose handled spoon and from then, much of his work included rose stemmed spoons, forks, knives and serving utensils.

This set of set demitasse rose-handled Hildesheim spoons comes in a pink-cloth draped box designed specifically for the set. The cover of the box has a cellophane front (so you can see through the front), with a scalloped design. Someone apparently taped the cellophane to the inside of the box at some point, as you can see the tape still on the inside (SEE PIC 4). There is also a Hildesheimer tag on the inside to denote its authenticity.

I have never used these spoons. They are in great condition. The box top is a bit worn with a small stain on one side at the bottom (SEE PIC 3), but otherwise the box is in good condition.
