Korean HAN BOK Traditional Outfit
For those of you who have an affinity for Asian clothing and appreciate Asian culture, here is an authentic Korean Han Bok traditional outfit for women.
This piece was acquired by my sister, who taught in Japan and traveled throughout Asia during her summers off. She bought this piece during her trip to South Korea the early 2000's.
This Han Bok is the traditional 3 piece outfit worn in Korea since ancient times and is considered a national traditional dress to this day. The outfit consists of a white "underslip," the top dress, and an overjacket.
The slip is not unlike an english petticoat slip, with the bottom of the slip edged in white lace. There is a red very loose and voluminous overskirt also has white sleeves, and which is tied tbehind the back (SEE PICTURE 4), and then a soft cream overcoat that has several Asian Emblems in the back on on the sleeves.
