Matryoshka/Nesting Doll Set #2

If you are looking for something cute and cheery from around the world to add to your home, these teensy weensy wooden dollies might just fit the bill!

These are Matryoshka dolls, from Russia, though they can be found in many Eastern European countries. They are known as "nesting dolls" in English, as the dolls "nest" within each other, and the larger of the dols opens to reveal a smaller one within.

These three nesting dolls all have red "kerchiefs" on their head, with the larger two also sporting spiral designs on their red kerchiefs. All of the dolls have hot pink flowers with green leaf designs on their fronts, with the largest of the group sporting a more ornate designed rose and flower design. Their bottoms are painted with a subtle yellow, while the rest of them seems to keep their natural wooden color. All of them are lacquered, which is why they are "shiny."

There is one noticeable flaw--in the middle doll, there is some discoloration to one side of the doll (which looks like a black "smudge")--- PLEASE SEE PICTURE # when scrolling down for a better view. The price has been reduced to reflect this.

Otherwise, these dolls carry quirky expressions as seen in some of the handmade folk dolls of the 80's (which is how old these dolls are).
