The world of winter has always belonged to the magical forest, in my mind. So every Yuletide, I paint magical forest animals in their winter landscape.

This handpainted, one of a kind piece shows my "picture in picture technique." Here, a snow owl shows a flying snow owl within it. The flying snow owl carries a heart as it flies over an old village, under a full moon.

This piece is painted on wood that has been cut, sanded, primed, and painted in acrylics based on an original design. It is then varnished.
